life continues in incessant raininess, in German i would say this is "echt Monsoon". today is another strike of some sort, meaning that all of the kids are staying home from school. i can't keep all these strikes straight, this one has something to do with engineering students, but i don't know why that should affect grade-school students? yesterday was some sort of special religious day and small posters of Krishna were stuck above the doors with cow dung to prevent snakes from entering the house (see picture above). the other night the kids discovered that you could use an LED light while taking pictures, and so i adjusted the camera to allow for a longer exposure and more light writing, resulting in requests of me to write their names, seen in the last few pictures. this post also includes a shot inside of the local "stationary" store and another picture of drying hot peppers.
